Adult Autism Evaluations in Seattle — Finally Get the Answers You’ve Been Looking For
Many adults spend decades wondering why the world feels harder to navigate than it seems to for everyone else. Why social situations leave them exhausted. Why they have always felt fundamentally different — even in rooms full of people who care about them. If this sounds familiar, you are not alone. And an autism evaluation may be the most clarifying thing you ever do for yourself. I offer comprehensive autism evaluations for adults in Seattle and across Washington State via telehealth. My evaluations are thorough, individualized, and designed to give you real answers — not a rushed checklist.
Who This Evaluation Is For?
You may be a good candidate for an adult autism evaluation if you:
-
Have always felt like you were watching others from the outside
-
Find social interactions exhausting even when you enjoy them
-
Have been diagnosed with anxiety, depression, or ADHD but feel like something else is going on
-
Rely heavily on routines and feel destabilized when plans change
-
Have intense, focused interests that others find unusual
-
Struggle with unwritten social rules that everyone else seems to understand intuitively
-
Have sensory sensitivities — to sound, light, touch, or texture
-
Were told as a child that you were “too sensitive,” “too intense,” or “too much”
-
Are a woman who has spent years masking or performing a version of yourself
Autism looks different in adults than it does in children — and it looks different in women than it does in men. Many adults, particularly women, were never identified because they learned to camouflage their autistic traits early in life. A missed diagnosis in childhood does not mean autism isn’t there.
What the Evaluation Involves?
My adult autism evaluations are comprehensive, individualized, and typically completed within 4 to 6 weeks of your first appointment.
Step 1 — Free 15-minute consultation
We start with a brief phone call to discuss your concerns, answer your questions, and determine whether an evaluation is the right fit for you. There is no obligation and no pressure.
Step 2 — Intake interview
A thorough interview covering your developmental history, current challenges, relationships, work or school experiences, and what has brought you to seek an evaluation at this point in your life.
Step 3 — Testing sessions and collateral interview
One to two appointments using standardized assessment tools validated for adult autism evaluation. These are not pass/fail tests — they are structured ways of understanding how you think, communicate, and experience the world.
Step 4 — Scoring, interpretation, and report writing
I spend significant time analyzing the results before we meet again. Your report is detailed, clinically sound, and written to be genuinely useful — not just a summary of test scores.
Step 5 — Feedback session
We meet to walk through the findings together. If an autism diagnosis is supported by the evaluation, I will explain what that means for you specifically — and provide clear, practical recommendations for therapy, workplace accommodations, or next steps.
Why a Diagnosis Matters?
A diagnosis does not change who you are. But it can change everything about how you understand yourself.
Adults who receive a late autism diagnosis often describe the same experience: relief. Suddenly the exhaustion makes sense. The social difficulties make sense. The years of feeling like you were failing at something that came naturally to everyone else make sense.
Beyond self-understanding, a diagnosis can open doors to:
-
Workplace accommodations under the ADA
-
A clearer framework for therapy
-
Access to autism-specific support communities
-
Better understanding from family members and partners
-
The ability to stop masking and start building a life that works for your actual neurology

Frequently Asked Questions
Can adults really be diagnosed with autism?
Yes. There is no age limit for an autism diagnosis. Many adults are diagnosed in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and beyond. A late diagnosis is just as valid as an early one.
Does it matter that I wasn’t diagnosed as a child?
Not at all. Many adults — particularly women — were never identified in childhood because they masked their autistic traits or because the people around them didn’t recognize the signs. The absence of a childhood diagnosis does not rule out autism.
How long does the evaluation take?
The full process, from intake interview through feedback session, typically takes 4 to 6 weeks. Testing itself usually involves one to two appointments.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not accept insurance directly, but I can provide a superbill that you can submit to your insurance carrier for potential reimbursement. Many clients with out-of-network benefits receive partial reimbursement.
Do you offer telehealth evaluations?
Yes. I offer telehealth evaluations for adults across all of Washington State. You do not need to be located in Seattle to work with me.
What if the evaluation doesn’t find autism?
A comprehensive evaluation gives you answers either way. If autism is not supported, the evaluation process often clarifies what is going on — whether that is ADHD, anxiety, a learning difference, or something else — and provides recommendations accordingly.
